CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-10 assured that it will continue to generate data that will be helpful to policymakers, program planners, and implementers for both the government and private sectors. The assurance was given by PSA-10 Officer-in-Charge Dr. Janith C. Aves in a regional dissemination forum, July 14, citing the relevance of PSA surveys in monitoring and evaluating various government programs. The dissemination forum highlighted the results of the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS). Aves said it is the 12th in a series of national demographic and health surveys conducted every five years since 1968 that aim to collect data on fertility, fertility preferences, family planning practices, childhood mortality, maternal and child health, knowledge and attitudes regarding HIV/AIDS, women's empowerment, violence against women, and other health issues. She said the 79-page NDHS questionnaire provided indicators anchored to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Philippine Development Plan 2023–2028. "The fieldwork for the 2022 NDHS was carried out from May 2 to June 22, 2022, covering a sample of 2,182 households with 26 personnel hired in Region 10," she added. The Philippine Government funded the conduct of the 2022 NDHS, with technical support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). (APB/PIA-10)
