1st CdeO Boot Camp Music and Arts Festival Opens

Cagayan de Oro City, August 23, 2024_It's music and more during the celebration of CdO's fiesta as the 1st CdeO Boot Camp Music and Arts Festival was formally opened Friday at the City Tourism Hall.

Ms. Sheila Lumbatan, City Gender and Development Focal Person and representing Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy and City Councilor Mercedes Joyleen "Girlie" Balaba, SonAmPat chairperson, graced the occasion.

Councilor Balaba said that the Boot Camp is until today, August 26, and this features breakout sessions for composition, voice, dance, soil painting, bay bayin workshops, master classes, and collaborative sessions.

Balaba added that 176 songwriters, solo or duo singers, 5-member bands, choreographers, dancers, and visual artists coming from CdO, Opol and Medina towns in Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon and Iligan City are joining the Boot Camp. Among the mentors are Joey Ayala, Bayang Barrios, Dong "Yano" Abay, Waway Saway, Datu Alimuwan, Talahib People's Music, Dodu Abrio and the Viajeros, Haring Gangis and more.
