Comelec-summoned Voter Invokes Suffrage Rights

Cagayan de Oro City, November 22, 2024_An alarmed transferee voter in Barangay Carmen this city today invoked her constitutional suffrage rights after being summoned by the Commission on Elections amidst a controversial surge in number of voters in recent months in Cagayan de Oro's 1st District.

"For myself, I just exercised my right to transfer as a voter in Barangay Carmen because I work here and it would be cumbersome for me to have to travel to and from my hometown in Naawan, Misamis Oriental, just to vote", said a lady when interviewed by the Mindanao Reporter.

"I was very stressed when I received the summon from the Comelec, and I immediately reported and explained my side", added the woman who didn't identify herself but agreed to have her interview on video.
