
MAMBAJAO, Camiguin (PIA)--The Camiguin General Hospital (CGH) kicked off a week-long celebration of National Hospital Week with resounding success, highlighting a series of activities aimed at promoting community health and well-being as well as gender and development, August 7. Showcasing the hospital's commitment to delivering high-quality medical services to the people of Camiguin, the festivities commenced with the ribbon-cutting of the Health Fair Booth, a vibrant display of health information and educational materials designed to empower the community with knowledge about various health-related issues. The booth serves as a testament to CGH's dedication to promoting health awareness and preventive care. A significant highlight of the celebration was the solemn blessing of the hospital's new ambulance, symbolizing CGH's unwavering commitment to ensuring swift and reliable medical assistance for the residents of the island. The new addition further enhances the hospital's capacity to provide timely emergency response and patient transport. The centerpiece of the event was the Symposium on Current Gender Health-Related Issues, which saw medical experts and specialists delving into critical health topics. Discussions included breast and cervical cancer diseases, mental health concerns, and lifestyle-related illnesses. The symposium aimed to educate the community about pressing health issues and provide guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Gretchen Cabalang, CGH's head, emphasized the significance of the event, stating, "This activity aims to promote the services of the hospital to the community. It showcases the important role of the hospital in promoting, preserving, and maintaining the health of our community." She further highlighted that CGH is dedicated to offering quality healthcare services to the people of Camiguin. Themed "Sulong Kalusugan: Ospital Maaasahan" (Advancing Health: A Reliable Hospital), the celebration underscores CGH's commitment to being a dependable partner in community health. Cabalang emphasized, "In anything that pertains to health, the hospital will always be here to provide services. We are here to give the utmost quality services to our people." Cabalang also acknowledged the vital support of Rep. Jurdin Jesus Romualdo and Gov. Xavier Jesus Romualdo in ensuring the hospital's capability to serve the community. This year, the hospital received a funding boost of P276 million, a significant increase from the previous P145 million, attributed to the concerted efforts of Rep. Romualdo. As Camiguin General Hospital's National Hospital Week celebration continues, it echoes the resounding message that the institution's primary mission is to prioritize the well-being of the community.
