AFP Chief Calls For Unity and Solidarity Amidst Political Crisis

Cagayan de Oro City, February 21,2024_Armed Forces Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr. today admonished soldiers of the 4th Infantry Diamond Division of the Philippine Army against political involvement. Gen. Brawner made this remark as he visited personnel wounded in action and gave due recognition to gallant infantrymen in simple rites at the Montalvan Hall in Camp Evangelista in Barangay Patag this city.

"Huwag natin hayaan na magamit ang Armed Forces of the Philippines sa kahit anumang political exercise. We should remain solid. We only have one country, one Philippines. Mahalin natin ang ating bansa. Iisa ang bansang Pilipinas, hindi natin pwedeng hatiin sa dalawa o tatlo. Isa lang ang ating bansa, we only have one Philippines. And we need a headstrong Armed Forces of the Philippines," Brawner said.

"We need ourselves strong by continuously training among ourselves unilaterally, by training with our partners and allies on lateral and unilateral exercises, and we should also pursue our modernization program. In this way, we can have a headstrong Armed Forces of the Philippines and we have a strong Philippines. A country that will be able to defend itself against all forms.of threat," Brawner added.
