𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐳𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐳 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐨, 𝐎𝐳𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐳 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲

Ozamiz City—an incident of robbery was discovered at around 11:48 AM on January 1, 2024, at Gaisano Mall, Ozamiz City, P-3 Baybay Sta Cruz, Ozamiz City.


Ozamiz City Police Station Officer in Charge, PMAJ DENNIS P TANO, reported to PCOL DWIGHT MONATO, Provincial Director, Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Office, that certain Ludivina Villaceran, HR-Gaisano Ozamiz City reported to Ozamiz CPS via cellphone call that a robbery incident transpired thereat.

Personnel of Ozamiz CPS with the Investigator on case responded to the said store and confirmed the robbery. The responding team immediately cordoned off the location of the incident and subsequently contacted the Misamis Occidental Provincial Forensics Unit (MOCPFU) to process the crime scene for the collection and preservation of evidence.

Investigation disclosed that the perpetrators, whose identities are still under investigation, gained entrance by digging up a hole from a nearby drainage leading up to the food court area of said establishment, which also served as their possible exit.


When perpetrators were able to gain access inside the mall, they forcibly opened the installed Metro Bank Automated Teller Machine, taking the cash inside; the vault of stall GKC Jewelry Shop with cash and assorted jewelry; and the vault of Oro Italia Fine Jewelry Shop was also forcibly opened, gaining entrance by breaking the glass wall and took away the cash and jewelry.


The overall estimated stolen amounts of cash and jewelry are still undetermined as of this time.


During follow-up operations, a suspect was arrested and was brought to Ozamiz CPS for investigation, other suspects are still yet to be identified as Ozamiz City Police Station is geared towards the resolution of the case at the soonest possible time.


Intelligence-driven checkpoint operations were already established in all the egress areas of the city, and relentless manhunt operations are still being conducted to arrest other suspects involved in the robbery.
