In a hopeful and historic moment for lasting peace, thirty-six (36) former rebels officially surrendered and were reintegrated into society through the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP). This landmark event took place on January 10, 2025, during a press conference at Camp Osito D. Bahian, Barangay Impalambong, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. It marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to achieve long-term peace and stability in Mindanao.

The former members of armed rebel groups, who have pledged to leave behind a life of conflict, expressed their commitment to rebuilding their lives and contributing positively to their communities. As part of their reintegration into mainstream society, these individuals will be supported by the E-CLIP program, which provides comprehensive assistance including financial aid, livelihood training, and social services aimed at easing their transition to civilian life.

Local officials, including representatives from the provincial government and security sectors, hailed the surrender as a major milestone in the peace process. "This is a pivotal moment that showcases the effectiveness of peaceful reintegration efforts and highlights the government's commitment to offering former rebels new opportunities for a better future," said one official in a statement. The E-CLIP program is central to the government’s strategy of ending insurgency through peaceful means, offering former rebels not just material support but also a chance at redemption and a fresh start. The reintegration process emphasizes healing, rehabilitation, and the empowerment of former combatants to contribute to the economic and social development of their communities.

This latest development in Bukidnon reflects the growing success of the E-CLIP program in fostering national peace and stability, proving that even those who have once taken up arms can play a significant role in nation-building when given the right opportunities. Local leaders and peace advocates continue to express hope that this program will serve as a model for other regions, helping to guide former rebels toward new lives free from violence and conflict.

The government's continued focus on peace, reconciliation, and reintegration reflects its broader commitment to fostering an inclusive society where former insurgents can find new purpose and become productive, law-abiding citizens. This step forward is seen as a testament to the success of collaborative efforts between local communities, the military, and the government in building a more peaceful and prosperous future.
