Ozamiz City Mayor Henry "Indy" Oaminal Jr., together with Vice Mayor Simplicia "Bebie" Neri and city councils, led the ceremonial turnover ceremony of the tablets.

Beneficiary schools include the Ozamiz City National High School (OCNHS), Ozamiz City School of Arts and Trade (OCSAT), San Antonio National High School, Tabid National High School, Labinay National High School, Gala National High School, Cruz Lanzado Saligan Integrated School, Marcelino C. To ensure that no one would be left behind when it comes to education, Ozamiz City Mayor Henry "Indy" Oaminal Jr. said the purchase of the tablets is part of the local government’s initiatives and programs to advance the capability of the students in terms of digital technology.

"Usa sa mga programa sa team Asenso ang paghatag og mga tablets nga makatabang sa inyong pag-eskwela. Kaning tablets dako usab kaayo ni'g tabang sa inyong pagtuon og gusto namo nga ang mga Ozamiznon nga learners dili mo maulahi ana," Mayor Indy Oaminal emphasized.

(One of the programs of Team Asenso is to provide tablets that will help you in school. These tablets are also a great help in your studies, and we want the Ozamiz learners not to be late for that)

The mayor also encouraged the learners to pursue their college education because the city government is always ready to help and will continue to do its part in providing all the necessities for the students in Ozamiz.

Vice Mayor Simplicia "Bebe" Neri urged the learners to value the importance of education. She shared that the local government units are providing the learners tablets so that they will not be behind here in the city of Ozamiz.

"This is one of the strong programs of our city government. Our city mayor is looking into the importance of education; that's why we have to shell out for your own good so that while you are on your journey, you are provided with such necessary gadgets," she said.

For their part, the students are grateful for the tablets and have promised to use them wisely and with care.

"I'm grateful to the administration today because we were given a free tablet, so it's very helpful for us now that we're in college. Of course, we'll take care of it because it's free," Honey Sheen Laguros of Labo National High School expressed.

Oaminal reminded its beloved Ozamiznon students to take care of and value the tablets just as the local government values their education. (SMRN/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
