UNLIKE pop-up mobile coffee bar entrepreneurs, Oddrea Bernaldez and RR Calao (both from Cagayan de Oro) did not enroll in any barista academy here but literally started learning from scratch. And unlike their peers, they are still college students. Oddrea is on his way to freshman year while RR prefers to focus more on his business, dropping his college studies momentarily. What drives these two young entrepreneurs instead is sheer passion.
Oddrea is still 19 while RR is already 21 years old. And they sure succeeded. Oddrea and RR can be found vending their freshly brewed caramel macchiato, iced white, charcoal latte, kape latte, Spanish latte, Americano and cappuccino in hot and cold options along Velez St. near Rodelsa Circle. (They also serve refresher drinks and dark Sparkle as well.) "We did not attend any trainings. We mainly tutored ourselves via YouTube," Oddrea proudly states. And so Kape Rolls sa Dalan was created in July 2021 at the height of the pandemic when everybody was craving for food and drinks to go. They initially rolled out their cart at Masterson Ave. but soon transferred near Rodelsa Circle because of the volume of coffee-loving patrons there.
Today Kape Rolls sa Dalan isn't just a popup cart anymore. It also serves as a mobile coffee bar too, catering in such events as caterings, weddings, christenings and corporate socials. For inquiries, do give them a call at 09978601192.
