Cong. Suan Turns Over P205M Finished Flood Control Project To Barangay Iponan

October 22,2025, Cagayan de Oro Cty_ Another completed and finished flood control structure worth P205M was turned over Wednesday by 1st district Congressman Attorney Lordan Suan to Barangay Iponan.

This flood control project is aimed at mitigating flooding during heavy rainfall which has been a perennial problem in this village.

Congressman Attorney Lordan Suan dons an hard hat before ribbon-cutting rites of a flood control structure in Barangay Iponan Wednesday.

The structure has a length of 563 linear meters a 2.25 meter walkway, a 0.92 meter culvert and wheel guards for added protection. These are made with stone masonry and reinforced cement to further strengthen the structure against strong currents.

In simple turnover rites, attended by 1st Engineering District officials led by DE Ana Lee Manzano, Iponan Punong Barangay Venjie Reyes, other officials from neighboring villages, community leaders and relieved residents, Congressman Lordan Suan said, "This project, costing P205 M, symbolizes our deep concern for the safety of Barangay Iponan and neighboring communities".

Suan also disclosed that he has personally inspected his thirty-three other flood control projects in his district and that he is confident that these are strongly built.
