Tabac: "I Can Be A Whistleblower"

June 9, 2025, Cagayan de Oro City _Embattled Gusa Barangay Captain Marlo Tabac Monday declared that he is willing to lose his position just to reveal the truth amidst allegations that he was involved in alleged vote buying as the campaign manager of Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy's camp in the city's 2nd district in last month's midterm elections.

Tabac, now on his final term as Punong Barangay, said that he suspects that since funds given to him then fell short, this was allegedly the probable reason why 64 Barangay captains signed a petition ousting him as Vice President of the Liga ng mga Barangay. He added that speculations abound that he is to be replaced by Mayor Uy's son, Rainier Joaquin, PB of Carmen, as alleged successor of Liga prexy Alam Lim who won as city councilor.

Tabac is adamant that he will face a possible congressional inquiry on alleged vote-buying, if needed, and that he has nothing to hide.
