SM CDO DOWNTOWN GOES SOLAR

SM CDO Downtown is at the forefront of lighting the path to a greener future (quite literally) as the mall is now powered by an impressive 1,121 solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, generating a peak capacity of 700 kilowatts.

SM CDO Downtown is the first SM mall to install solar panels on a metal roof and the second in Mindanao to harness solar energy.

With these solar panels, the mall's overall electricity consumption is reduced by an average of 95,858.25 kWh per month - enough to operate all 16 escalators and 11 elevators throughout the entire day.
