Vendors at the flower section near the Saint Augustine Cathedral church here in CDO City said flower prices increased by 10 to 15 pesos each today, Valentine's Day. The vendors say the buying price of flowers from their sources price of flowers have been high for them and there's nothing they can do as there is no price regulating body from City Hall to monitor these. They lamented that the city's seat of governance is just across the street from their location and no action has been taken. Flower prices since the start of February have skyrocketed from 500 to 1000 per bundle.
Most of the vendors said that since the start of February, hence the vendors have no other voice but to increase that selling price of flowers from 10 to 15 pesos per piece, regardless of kind.
