CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Foundation Inc. Oro Chamber President Almarco Brito said the adoption of the strategic plan is intended to establish a strong leadership legacy anchored on long-term vision and continuity.

“We want to start the year with a strategic plan that will serve as a roadmap for the next five years, guiding where we want the Oro Chamber to go, while emphasizing its role in the business community in Cagayan de Oro and the region,” Brito said.

Under the newly approved plan, Brito envisions the Oro Chamber becoming the most influential voice of business in Northern Mindanao, particularly in promoting ease of doing business and ensuring inclusive economic growth across the region.

“In the next five years, we see the Oro Chamber as the leading advocate for the business sector, pushing for policies that support ease of doing business and inclusive growth in Northern Mindanao,” he added.

Brito underscored Northern Mindanao’s diverse and complementary economic strengths, citing the unique roles of its provinces and cities. Bukidnon remains the region’s agricultural backbone, while Camiguin and parts of Misamis Oriental drive tourism. Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental contribute through agri-tourism and aquaculture, while Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro serve as hubs for manufacturing and industrial activities.

He also emphasized Cagayan de Oro City’s central role as the region’s services center, hosting key sectors such as health, education, banking, and other professional services.

“We’ve got everything in Northern Mindanao. Ano pa ang hahanapin niyo? Everything is here in NorthMin,” Brito said, highlighting the region’s strong potential for sustained and balanced growth.

The administration of President Brito will be guided by the acronym SAIL, which defines the Oro Chamber’s strategic focus areas: Service to members, Advocacy on issues affecting the business landscape, Investment attraction, and Linkages through networking with both local and international partners.

With the passage of the 5-Year Strategic Plan, the Oro Chamber aims to strengthen its role as a catalyst for economic development, collaboration, and business leadership in Cagayan de Oro City and the wider Northern Mindanao region.
