Oca Assures Fetch Riders Of Support

April 25,2025, Cagayan de Oro City_Former City Mayor Oscar Moreno was invited by 350 Fetch riders, a ride hailing motorcycle group, Friday night at a beach resort in Barangay Bulua as they celebrated their 1st anniversary.

The riders aired their issues and concerns to the former chief executive, which focused mainly on the lack of legal recognition by the local government unit for them to be issued a business permit for them to be legitimised.

“Our group has been operating for a year now, yet we have never been acknowledged or given the chance to be legitimized,” said Allan Rubio, one of the group's representatives. “What’s worse is that we don’t even have access to accident insurance because we can't afford the contributions with the little we earn each day.”

In response, Moreno assured the riders that if elected, he will prioritize providing free legal support to Fetch riders, noting that aside from being a lawyer himself, Moreno's city council hopefuls include lawyers like incumbent City Councilor Joey Abbu, Ina Pizarro, Cy Casin̈o and even incumbent Congressman Lordan Suan.

Moreno also reminded the riders not to engage in illicit activities such as involvement in illegal drugs.
