Monitoring and Repair Update on Iponan River Flood Control Project in Barangay Pagatpat, a Cagayan de Oro City

𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐩𝐚𝐭, 𝐂𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐨 𝐂𝐢t𝐲

This pertains to the news report posted on the Facebook Page of 102.5 Brigada News FM CdeO, involving the Iponan River Flood Control Project situated in Barangay Pagatpat, Cagayan de Oro City, showing cracks and defects on the aforesaid structure.

T he Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office 10 is currently conducting frequent monitoring activities on the flood control projects within the Region. Upon monitoring of the above-mentioned project, defects and damages on its structure have been observed.

The project started on the 25th of October 2019, and was completed on the 16th of December 2020.

As stated on the Project Engineer’s Report dated 9th of June 2025, cracks, holes, and vegetation were noted. This Office immediately coordinated with the awarded contractor for its repair at their own expense.

Repairs are currently being undertaken by the contractor of the aforementioned project as of the moment. This measure has been made to avoid further damage to the entirety of the flood control structure.

R est assured that this Office will continue on its monitoring and preventive measures on the flood control structure for the safety of the public.
