Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy led a visit to Barangay Kauswagan on January 26, accompanied by local barangay officials. During the visit, Mayor Klarex called on residents to be vigilant against fake news and bribed misinformation spreading about the city's management. He urged the public not to be swayed by misleading claims regarding the administration’s handling of city affairs.
The mayor addressed concerns regarding the city’s financial status, revealing that his administration is currently grappling with a massive debt of P2.9 billion, which was left behind by the previous administration. "We are doing everything we can to address this debt, but it is important to acknowledge that we are working with the challenges handed down to us," Mayor Klarex explained. He also highlighted several unfinished projects that were left without proper permits from the Office of the Building Officials (OBO), calling attention to the mismanagement of these initiatives. Mayor Klarex’s remarks emphasized transparency and accountability, reinforcing his commitment to address the city's financial challenges and continue serving the people of Cagayan de Oro. His visit to Barangay Kauswagan was part of his ongoing outreach efforts to engage with local communities and address their concerns directly.
