Mayor Klarex Uy Appeals For Business Sector's Support For Higalaay Festival

August 13, 2025, Cagayan de Oro City_ The local government unit has appealed for the support of the city's business sector in observing the Higalaay Festival.

Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy asked the city's entrepreneurs to mount Higalaay Festival-inspired decorations and play the official Higalaay Festival theme in their respective establishments. The city's chief executive also enjoined the private sector to organize and feature pocket events related to the annual celebration.

In issuing an Executive Order, Mayor Uy exhorted the business sector to mount Higalaay Festival decors at the entrance of their respective stores until the end of this month. Likewise, the mayor encouraged the private sector to play the official Higalaay Festival theme on August 27 and 28, which can be downloaded or QR scanned from the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs website or Facebook page.

The Higalaay Festival 2025 is in line with the Diamond Jubilee or 75th year observation and celebration of the city with the theme, "Mapasigarbuhon Sa Kagikan, Madasigon Sa Mga Damgo", and in honor of the city's patron, Saint Augustine.

The Higalaay Festival is geared towards the leveling up of local tourism.
