Mayor Klarex Decries Trolls Out To Discredit Him

October 14,2025, Cagayan de Oro City_ City Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy Tuesday decried what he called as baseless posts in social media platforms meant to deride his political career.

Mayor Uy, in an exclusive interview with Joel Jacobo of Magnum Radyo, claimed that there are trolls who are obviously paid to ruin his relationship with the people of Davao City.

"I do not and will not tolerate personalities who are behind attempts to destroy my relationship with the people of Davao City and when, in fact, when I was elected mayor in 2022, our City Council passed a resolution proclaiming former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte as an adopted son of Cagayan de Oro", said Mayor Klarex.

"I have instructed the City Information Office to trace, in coordination with the PNP's Cybercrime Unit, to trace social media posts depicting me as allegedly behind denying passage and travel of trucks from Davao City in delivering relief goods to earthquake victims in Bogo City in Cebu province. The posts claimed that I declared that found in those relief trucks were illegal drugs from the Dutertes in Davao City hence I allegedly barred these trucks from traveling from Cagayan de Oro. These malicious posts have been traced to emanate from Manila and these posts also claim that I have been declared as a persona non grata by Davao's City Council. I have not been and never will be involved in illegal activities", bewailed Uy, who added that he will instead focus on solving problems besetting the city.
