Colors, Costumes, Props, And Creativity Impact Higalaay Street Dancing Competition

August 26, 2025, Cagayan de Oro City_A sea of colors, costumes, props and booming music combined and created a very jolly mood along Apolinar Velez street as participants marched towards the Pelaez Sports Complex Tuesday to compete in the Street Dancing Competition, a core event of the Higalaay Festival in this city.

Contingents from different barangays, schools and the private sector geared up for grandious prizes from the local government unit under the administration of Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy. Categories were set for the event which started from 1pm till 7 in the evening.

Vehicular traffic was well managed by the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) as the main street was temporarily closed. Motorists were detoured along the side streets of the poblacion.

The Street Dancing Competition is a highlight of the Higalaay Festival in honor of the feast of Cagayan de Oro's patron, Saint Augustine.
