Camiguin News: Comelec Resolves Disqualification Of Rodriguez With Finality

April 23, 2025, Manila_In a promulgation dated April 11, 2025, the Commission on Elections en banc resolved with finality the petition for disqualification filed by incumbent Representative Jurdin Jesus M. Romualdo against Congressional candidate Paul Y. Rodriguez due to non-residency.

In its entry of judgement in SPA 24-190 (DC), the Comelec en banc denied the motion for reconsideration of Rodriguez and ruled the cancellation of Rodriguez’ candidacy as immediately executory.

Under the rules of procedure, after respondent Rodrihuez failed to secure a temporary restraining order from the Supreme Court after five days from receipt of the aforementioned resolution, the en banc resolution is immediately executory.
