Barangay San Simon Residents Celebrates Completion of Solar-Powered Water System in Cagayan de Oro. Residents of Barangay San Simon in the city of Cagayan de Oro are celebrating the completion of a much-anticipated project aimed at addressing their water supply challenges.
The project, initiated by 1st District Congressman Lordan Suan, was formally completed with the support of Barangay Captain Fernando Edrolin. The newly established solar-powered water system consists of 24 solar panels, a water tank, a control house, 18 tap stands, and six outdoor waterproof solar LED lights. With an estimated total cost of nearly 10 million pesos, the project is expected to significantly improve the daily lives of the local residents. District Director Bert Amplayo, representing Congressman Suan, highlighted the significant impact that the newly completed solar-powered water system would have on the community, particularly in easing the longstanding challenges of accessing clean and reliable water. Speaking during the announcement, Amplayo emphasized that the system would serve as a sustainable solution to the region’s water scarcity issues, providing a steady and dependable water source for residents in Barangay San Simon. He noted that the new system was an important step forward in addressing the water crisis that has plagued the area for years, underscoring the role of such projects in improving the quality of life for local communities. Residents of Barangay San Simon expressed their deep gratitude for the project, with many thanking Congressman Suan.
