𝐂𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐏 A𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 T𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐬 For N𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 5 𝐍𝐏𝐀 R𝐞𝐦𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 I𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City - General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP) awarded troops under the 901st Infantry Brigade during his visit at its headquarters in Sta. Cruz, Placer, Surigao del Norte on Thursday, June 19, 2025.

A total of 12 personnel composed of two officers and 10 enlisted personnel were conferred Gold Cross Medals, Silver Cross Medals and Military Merit Medals for their bravery during the successive encounters in Placer, Surigao del Norte that resulted in the neutralization of five NPA remnants to include one of Caraga’s most wanted NPA Leader.

During the talk with the troops, Gen. Brawner commended their dedication and sacrifices and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their mission to uphold peace and security in the area. He added that as the AFP remains victorious against the NPA, it can now concentrate on strengthening territorial integrity and responding effectively to external security challenges.

"Our focused military operations, supported by good governance and the cooperation of our people, have significantly weakened the NPA. As we near the end of this internal challenges, the AFP is now gradually shifting focus to territorial defense, ensuring we are prepared to protect our nation’s sovereignty amid growing external challenges,” he added.

In attendance during the field visit was Major General Michele B. Anayron Jr., Commander of 4ID, Brigadier General Arsenio DC Sadural, Commander of 901st Brigade, other key officers and enlisted personnel of the said unit.

The CSAFP's visit aimed to boost the morale and welfare of troops deployed in the frontline to combat remnants of the New People's Army in Caraga region.
