CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – The troops of 1st Special Forces
Battalion (1SFBn) under 403Bde, 4ID, encountered more or less seven (7) elements of
the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in Purok 6, Brgy Imbayao, Malaybalay City,
Bukidnon on April 18, 2022, which resulted in the death of a certain Darren Jane Tilucan
and the capture of two (2) M16 Rifles.
4ID Commander, Maj. Gen. Wilbur C. Mamawag, stated that the engaged CTGs are
splintered elements of SRC5, NCMRC, who from Lanao del Sur tried to cross over
towards Bukidnon for safety, after having been badly punished by the 1SFBn troopers in
a previous encounter at Brgy Tikalaan, Talakag, Bukidnon on April 6, 2022, which
resulted in four (four) deaths (CTG leaders) and the capture of 16 high-powered
firearms.
For the month of April alone, the Joint Task Force Diamond has already captured 33
firearms and neutralized a total of 16 CTG members through surrender, arrest and
encounters in its Area of Operation both in Northern Mindanao and Caraga regions.
