4ID Commander Reaffirms Commitment to Peace and Stability in 2nd Quarter RPOC XIII - Caraga Full Council Meeting

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – Major General Michele B. Anayron Jr., Commander of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, underscored the division's unwavering commitment to sustaining peace and stability across the Caraga Region during the 2nd Quarter 2025 Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) XIII - Caraga Full Council Meeting on June 4, 2025, held at Almont Inland Convention, JC Aquino Avenue, Butuan City.

Hon. Alexander T. Pimentel, Governor, Province of Surigao del Sur and outgoing RPOC Chairperson, presided over the activity, which gathered key leaders and stakeholders in the region to review and address the peace and order situation and discuss various measures to enhance security.

In addition, Governor Pimentel administered the oath-taking of Maj. Gen. Anayron as the newly appointed RPOC Vice-Chairperson. This highlights the 4ID Commander's key role in advancing the council's peace and order agenda in the region.

Joining the 4ID Commander were Brigadier General Adolfo B Espuelas Jr., Commander of 402nd Infantry Brigade; Brigadier General Arsenio D.C. Sadural, Commander of 901st Infantry Brigade; and Lieutenant Colonel Jose Redentor C Gilbuela, Acting Commanding Officer of the 26th Infantry Battalion.

The meeting was also attended by Dir. Maria Loisella E. Lucino, CESO IV, Regional Director, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) - Caraga; PBGen Christopher N Abrahano, Regional Director, Philippine National Police (PNP), Police Regional Office XIII; FCSupt Rodolfo P Denaga, Regional Director, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP); Mr. Bonifacio R Pulgo, Officer-in-Charge, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) XIII; and other sectoral partners, demonstrating the government's unified approach to achieving a secure and peaceful Caraga Region.

During the meeting, RPOC members presented their updates and accomplishments on anti-criminality, anti-insurgency, violent extremism, public safety, and the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force on E-CLIP, as well as the possible inclusion of former rebels as members of RPOC.

Meanwhile, Colonel Sandy R. Majarocon, the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, G3, 4ID provided a comprehensive update on the Special Action Committee (SAC) on Anti-Insurgency and Preventing Violent Extremism, highlighting 4ID's ongoing efforts to dismantle remaining communist terrorist group's (CTG) networks, disrupt recruitment pipelines, and counter extremist narratives.

In his statement, the 4ID Commander emphasized the importance of sustained interagency cooperation, community engagement, and robust intelligence sharing as crucial elements in effectively addressing security challenges and fostering lasting peace in the region.
