Villanueva Chorale is champ in Busan Chorale Olympics
THE Villanueva Chorale from Villanueva, Misamis Oriental is champion in the recently held Busan Chorale Olympics in Busan, South Korea.
The competition was held last Friday, October 21 at Busan Cinema Center and Villanueva Chorale competed under the pop category where it was adjudged as champion, besting two choirs from Indonesia. Under the pop category, the 25-person chorale performed in classical mixed and equal, pop and acapella and ethnic.
Under the tutelage of conductor Ralph Ramos, this is the most joyous moment of the choir which was established only two years ago by the municipal government of Villanueva led by the dynamic and indefatigable Mayor Jennie Mendez.
Upon hearing of their victory, Mendez expressed her utmost congratulations to Villanueva Chorale which has brought pride not just to their hometown but to the whole province of Misamis Oriental and the Philippines.
The Villanueva Chorale in turn would like to thank the the local government of Villanueva as well as to former Misamis Oriental second district Rep. Juliette Uy, former Vice Gov. Julio Uy, Angela Conag, Elsa Mortola and to the people of Villanueva for their overwhelming support.
Villanueva Chorale is expected to be back in their hometown in the next few days with a roaring thanksgiving celebration.
