PNP grants P7.9 reward to tipsters

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) – PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Director for Intelligence PMGen Benjamin C. Acorda Jr. handed-over a total amount of seven million nine hundred sixty thousand pesos (PhP7,960,000.00) cash rewards to the nine (9) confidential informants during symbolic ceremonies in Camp Crame on Friday afternoon. The tipsters provided vital information to the arrest of a Communist Terrorist Group Leader and eight fugitives from justice listed as Most Wanted Persons. The accused are the subject of Warrants of Arrest issued by the Court for involvement in heinous crime cases ranging from murder, rape, forcible abduction with rape, multiple frustrated murder, and multiple attempted murder. "Granting monetary rewards to persons (except government employees) who are instrumental to the arrest, surrender, or death in legitimate operations of Most Wanted Persons is among the programs of the Philippine National Police for the immediate arrest of wanted persons in the country", the PNP Intelligence Chief said. Acorda encouraged the public to continue supporting and helping the PNP by providing necessary information on criminals and wanted persons for their immediate arrests.
