CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (Oro Chamber) joined other business organizations in the country in serving as Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) champions in the business sector.
This, after ARTA Director General Sec. Ernesto V. Perez and Oro Chamber President Raymundo G. Talimio, Jr., signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), June 22, to bolster the fight against red tape and corruption.
The MoU details the responsibilities of Oro Chamber and ARTA in fortifying their partnership through the establishment of communication channels to handle private sector complaints better and improve information dissemination on Republic Act (RA) No. 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
Under the MoU, the Oro Chamber, as the recognized official representative of the private business community in Cagayan de Oro, will serve as a liaison between ARTA and the business sector.
Its members will be capacitated to receive and process complaints from the business sector, civil society organizations, and professionals for any violation of RA 11032. The ARTA will then approve these complaints for appropriate action.
Moreover, the Oro Chamber is responsible for helping promote and raise awareness of the ease of doing business and anti-red tape initiatives.
Perez conveyed his appreciation to the Oro Chamber for supporting ARTA and making their work less difficult on the ground.
"I assure you that if you bring your complaints to us, as long as your complaints, concerns, and issues are duly validated, we will act on them because we act fast," he emphasized.
Talimio, on the other hand, said the MoU is a significant milestone in the collective efforts to foster a business-friendly environment and enhance the ease of doing business in Northern Mindanao.
"The signing of this MoU signifies the beginning of a powerful collaboration between the Oro Chamber and ARTA. Together, we aim to create a conducive business environment that stimulates economic growth, attracts investments, and unlocks the true potential of our region," he said. (APB/PIA-10)
