Freshly roasted beans always with M.C. Coffee

WHEN the surname Fabello pops up, two things come to mind - food and farming. (The Fabellos have been known in the food and agriculture industries in Cagayan de Oro City and Bukidnon for quite some time.) It's no wonder that retired banker Melvin Fabello also ventured into this industry, flawlessly blending his genetic passion with a personal one - his love for coffee.

It initially came as a habit during the daylong routine of a bank manager that Melvin needed to drink several cups of coffee a day with clients. So when he decided to avail of early retirement, he instinctively dipped into the local coffee business. M.C. Coffee was born, a fusion of Melvin and his wife Cristine's name. In 2019, the Fabello couple began growing Arabica, Robusta and Excelsa coffee in Talakag, a municipality in Bukidnon.

With training from the USDA-funded project PhilCAFE as well as DTI's Kapatid Mentor Me program, Melvin ventured into the coffee processing business as well. Today, M.C. Coffee is packed in 200 grams, 500 grams and 1 kilo in beans, grounds and drip in three varieties - pure Arabica, pure robusta and house blend. They can be ordered via the Facebook page of M.C. Coffee or at the following retail outlets: Fabello Primero Catering (formerly Tita Mimi's) at 15th St., Nazareth, Ginama OTOP Hub at Gaston Park and at Crumbs and Country Food Park in Libona. They are also available in selected retail outlets in General Santos and Davao cities as well. Yet the buck doesn't stop there.

The Fabellos' two daughters Camille and Clarisse have carved their own contribution to M.C. Coffee as well, this time as baristas. Thus, M.C. Coffee has also entered the competitive mobile coffee bar market here in Cagayan de Oro City serving in such events as weddings, debuts, christenings, corporate anniversaries, government socials and the like. In its mobile bar, M.C. Coffee serves brewed coffee, Americano, latte, caramel macchiato, caramel latte, Spanish latte, salted caramel latte, salted caramel mocha, hazelnut latte, dark choco mocha and white choco mocha. Taste the difference of pure freshly roasted coffee only with M.C. Coffee!
