The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office X signed an agreement with the provincial government of Misamis Oriental to implement more than P28 million in cash-for-work and cash-for-training this year.
DSWD Field Office X Regional Director Ramel F. Jamen and Misamis Governor Peter M. Unabia signed the memorandum of agreement during the flag ceremony to strengthen the implementation of climate change investments through the risk resiliency program under the Field Office's Disaster Response and Management Division.
The program targets 6,931 beneficiaries throughout the province's 18 local government units (LGUs) with an allocation of P28,070,550. The identified LGUs include Manticao, Naawan, Libertad, Gitagum, Laguindingan, Alubijid, and Claveria in the first district; and Balingasag, Lagonglong, Salay, Binuangan, Sugbongcogon, Kinoguitan, Balingoan, Talisayan, Medina, Gingoog City, and Magsaysay in the second district.
The LGUs identify the beneficiaries based on the vulnerability analysis matrix.
Under the cash-for-work modality, each beneficiary will receive P4,050 after rendering ten work days. The risk resiliency program would strengthen climate change investments' coordinated planning and budgeting across the most vulnerable provinces, like Misamis Oriental.
DSWD Field Office X's Dr. Delia Maravillosa and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Jhunleymar Abella witnessed the MOA signing.
